Film-maker and wildlife conservationist, Jimmy Greenwood divides his time between Europe and East Africa. He directs, films and edits all of his own moving picture material as well as writing and narrating. Having learnt these skills the hard way, chasing Chimpanzees around the forested slopes of the Mahale Mountains in Tanzania, he now makes fund-raising films for wildlife conservation projects and promotional films for eco-tourism safaris.
As human populations expand and natural habitats shrink, people and animals increasingly come into conflict over living space and food. People lose crops, livestock, and sometimes their own lives. The animals, many of which are already threatened or endangered, are often killed in retaliation or to prevent future conflicts.
By creating fund-raising films for community based wildlife conservation, the FFF aims to create a partnership with donor funding to preserve wildlife in areas of conflict with human activity by demonstrating that the wildlife can provide a value for the community.
